🛠️ Hand Me Down Moseley: Help Us Grow Together

Published by Adam Styler on

Moseley in Bloom is powered by people — volunteers, neighbours, families, schools, and local businesses who care about keeping Moseley vibrant, green, and welcoming. As a volunteer‑led environmental charity, we look after planting projects across B13 all year round, from spring bulbs and summer colour to winter clean‑ups and school garden sessions.

Right now, as we prepare for the year ahead, we’re asking our community to support a simple but essential need: to donate quality gardening hand tools that help our volunteers keep Moseley blooming.

🧤 Why Your Hand Tools Matter

Our permanent planting projects across Moseley rely on safe, sturdy tools that can be used by volunteers of all ages and abilities. Hand trowels and hand forks are especially important — they’re the everyday heroes of community gardening, helping us plant pollinator‑friendly flowers, maintain beds, and support biodiversity across the village.

But the impact goes far beyond digging and planting.
Quality tools help us:

  • Keep our public spaces thriving all year round, from spring bulbs to autumn colour
  • Support school gardening sessions, giving children the chance to learn outdoors and connect with nature
  • Maintain pollinator‑friendly planting, which boosts local biodiversity and supports bees, butterflies, and other wildlife
  • Equip new volunteers, especially those who may not have tools of their own
  • Work safely and efficiently, ensuring our team can focus on creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for everyone in B13

Every tool donated replaces one we would otherwise need to purchase — meaning more of our limited charity funds can go directly into plants, soil, and community projects.

If you’re having a spring clean or clearing out your shed, your spare tools could make a real difference.
