🌼 Sunshine, Seeds and Smiles: Moseley Children Bring Their School Grounds to Life

Published by Adam Styler on

Children from Moseley Church of England Primary School enjoyed a bright and joyful gardening session this week, transforming their school grounds and containers with fresh spring colour.

Under warm sunshine, pupils planted primroses and a variety of spring seeds—all generously provided by Moseley in Bloom as part of our commitment to supporting local schools and nurturing young gardeners.

🌱 Learning Through Nature

The session gave children the chance to get hands‑on with soil, seedlings and watering cans, turning simple planting into a meaningful learning experience. These activities help pupils:

  • Build confidence through practical outdoor learning
  • Understand how plants grow and why green spaces matter
  • Explore biodiversity and the importance of pollinators
  • Strengthen their connection to the local community

By encouraging children to care for their own school environment, we help grow a sense of pride and responsibility that lasts far beyond the classroom.

🌸 Planting That Brightens

Their Everyday SpacesThe newly planted primroses and seedlings will soon bring vibrant colour to the school’s containers and outdoor areas. This work supports wider goals shared by both the school and Moseley in Bloom:

  • Creating welcoming, nature‑rich spaces for children
  • Encouraging wildlife and pollinators
  • Building community pride through shared gardening

Helping young people understand the value of green spaces Seeing pupils take such joy in improving their own surroundings is a powerful reminder of how gardening helps children flourish.
