The Subgroups

There are a number of subgroups which have devolved from the committee focusing on varying elements of the Moseley in Bloom cause. The sub groups focus on these aspects and plan what needs to be done all year round.

Grant applications

Floral Displays
Encouraging businesses to sponsor and/or contribute towards floral displays. This is a significant piece of work for Moseley in Bloom as this is one of the main focal point within the community. Liaising with and meeting with Birmingham City Parks & Nurseries to organise the annual floral displays.
Business Sponsorship
Establishing relationships with Moseley businesses and encouraging financial support of Moseley in Bloom projects. Creating positive relationships with new businesses.
Plant Markets
The Plants market takes place on selected months for the Moseley Farmers Market. This raises local awareness of the Moseley in Bloom campaign. Sourcing plants and arranging volunteers for the stall. Labelling, pricing etc. We also hold a number of pop up plant sales throughout the year.
Open Gardens
The Open Gardens event is the biggest fund raising event in the calendar and has a high profile in the wider community. This is great for publicity. Part of the role is to persuade residents to open their gardens, checking suitability of gardens, setting dates and organising “routes”. Working with the volunteer’s coordination team is essential to ensure coverage.
